I photographed this image during one of many unforgettable trips out on the ocean off the coast of Lisbon, Portugal. Normally, we were looking for birds, dolphins, whales, and other marine animals, but on this particular trip, we kept coming across balloons. It looked like a balloon bouquet had escaped and drifted out to sea. Balloons are very dangerous to wildlife, they mistake them for food, and we picked them up as we came across them. Most were torn or deflated, but then we came across this perfect heart-shaped balloon floating there all alone. It was such a surreal scene, I had to take a few pictures before we took it out of the water.
PRINT DETAILS
The image is printed on matte archival cotton rag fine art paper with a 0.5” - 2” white border (depending on image size) and is signed on the border below the image. Print sizes refer to the total paper size, including the border (e.g., a 12x16-inch print has an 11x15-inch image with 0.5-inch borders). The prints are available unframed or framed, and every order is professionally custom printed.
FRAMED ART - USA & AUSTRALIA ONLY
Framed prints come in a black, white, or natural wood frame with or without a white mat. The frames are handmade in the US from top-quality hardwoods and all archival materials. They are custom made to order, with beautiful spline joints and 99% UV-filtering acrylic glass. Depending on print size, the frames have a 1/2" - 1" face and 1 1/2" - 2 1/4" depth. Smaller frames are fitted with D-rings and a wire for hanging; large frames (24x36 inches and up) have a French cleat hanging system.
Framed prints are currently only available in the US and Australia. All Australian orders are printed, framed, and shipped from my lab in Adelaide. The frames at my lab in Australia are also made locally by hand from top quality materials, though the details are a bit different from the US frames - please contact me if you would like more information.
FRAMED ART SIZES
The sizes listed are print sizes; mats and frames will add to the final size. For example, the final outside size of a 24x32-inch matted and framed print is 30x38 inches. Please see the framed art size image here (this is a 3:4 ratio print), or the FAQs for all final framed dimensions.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Unframed prints are rolled in a plastic sleeve, placed inside a sturdy shipping tube, and normally delivered within 10 business days of your order. Framed prints are carefully wrapped and boxed and shipped via FedEx or UPS. Large and oversized framed prints are crated and shipped via freight. Smaller framed prints typically have a turnaround time of 3-4 weeks, while larger framed prints normally take 6-9 weeks.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
Prints are available in the contiguous US, Canada, Australia, EU, and UK, and are produced and shipped by my local partner lab in each country.
